The Rebels are a favorite at home tonight versus a Fresno State team that actually sits ahead of them in the conference standings. The Bulldogs are 6-4 versus the Mountain West, and they are coming off a home win over the San Jose State Spartans. Fresno State has lost it's last two road games by double -digits, and a third consecutive road defeat is probable here in Las Vegas.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Home Cookin' - The Rebels boast a home record of 10-2, and their last home game was a double-digit win over Air Force (74-63). The Bulldogs haven't been a good bet on the road, failing to cover in nine of their last 11 away from home.
2. Rashad Vaughn - The Rebels leading scorer tallied 30 points on 12-of-21 shooting in the loss to Colorado State on Saturday. It was the second time in four games that Vaughn has reach 30 or more points. He's also 9-for-17 from three-point range over the last two games.
3. X-Factor - The Rebels are a far better shooting team than the Bulldogs, but the percentages are magnified in recent games. UNLV comes in shooting 37% from beyond the arc in it's last five games, roughly 10% better than Fresno State during that span. The Rebels are also shooting 45.6% from the field over it's last five, compared to 38.8% for the Bulldogs.
Selection: This is a play on the UNLV Rebels (8*)
