The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Texas Rangers 4-2 last night and will be looking to salvage a split of this four-game set with anoter win tonight. A win won't come easy though and we should see a close game with two hot pitchers on the mound, and I don't see the Rangers losing by more than one run, if at all.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Pitching - The Rangers will hand the ball to Yovani Gallardo (7-6, 2.72 ERA) who's coming off three shutout performances while hurling a total of 20 1/3 innings. He has an MLB-best 0.99 ERA in seven starts since May 24 without surrendering a single home run and he has a respectable 3.14 ERA in nine starts on the road this season. The Orioles will counter with Kevin Gausman (1-0, 4.24 ERA) who will make just his second start of the year. He's tossed only three of his 17 innings for the year home at Camden Yards and was 4-5 with a 3.90 ERA in 11 home starts last season.
2. Josh Hamilton - The Rangers slugger has 10 homers with a .390 batting average over his last 16 games at Camden Yards and is expected to re-join the lineup after sitting out yesterday's contest.
3. X-Factor - The Rangers are 34-11 against the run-line on the road this season.
Selection: This is a play on the Texas Rangers +1.5 (8*)
