Result: Loss
The Vancouver Canucks will host the St. Louis Blues on Friday night at Rogers Arena, and this looks like a tough spot for the visitors. St. Louis will be playing on back-to-back nights, as well as a third game in four nights after winning in Calgary on Tuesday, and at Edmonton last night.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Ryan Miller - The veteran netminder is in the zone early on this season, coming off a 15 save shutout win in LA. He's 3-0-1 with a 1.21 GAA and a .955 save percentage. "It's a small sample set," Miller said of his early success. "The idea is to keep building and growing. It's not the top of the pyramid for me and certainly not this team. The idea is to continually improve."
2. Home Cookin' - The Canucks have owned the Blues in recent meetings, taking six straight in this series. St. Louis has a history of struggling in Vancouver, going 8-22-2 in the last 32 meetings at Rogers Arena.
3. X-Factor - Blues backup goaltender Jake Allen will get the start tonight, and he allowed three goals on 19 shots in a loss to Minnesota in his season debut.
Selection: This is a play on the Vancouver Canucks (10*)
