*10* PLAYBOOK on UNDER Pelicans/Nuggets.
The New Orleans Pelicans can not catch any momentum what so ever as they're entering Sunday's match-up with the Denver Nuggets with only three wins over their last 11 games. The Nuggets are off a disappointing offensive display at Utah Friday, and I think we'll see a low-scoring game at Pepsi Center Sunday night.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Anthony Davis - The 22 year old power forward is one of few Pelicans who have played up to standards this season, but he seems to be fed up with his teammates lackluster performances at both ends of the court. "We can't expect to win if we give up that many points in the paint ... and we're not playing defense." Davis said after Friday's 104-88 defeat at Phoenix. Davis himself has just 33 points in his last two games combined and perhaps he's given up on trying to carry the team on his shoulders?
2. Road Woes - The Pelicans are averaging only 96.1 points per game on the road which can be compared to a 101.2 mark overall this season. The under is 13-2 in their 15 games away from home this season and each of their last six when visiting a team with a losing home record have failed to climb over the total.
3. X-Factor - Each of the Pelicans' last four against Western Conference opponents have gone under the total.
Selection: This is a play on NO@DEN to go UNDER the total (10*)
