(NCAAB) Florida vs. Georgia,
Point Spread: -5.00 | -106.00 Florida (Away)
Result: Win
Point Spread: -5.00 | -106.00 Florida (Away)
Result: Win
The set-up: Florida arrives in Athens off a very impressive 88-66 win over Kentucky. As a result, they are now ranked 17th in both of the latest polls. That still may not be high enough. Georgia has lost its last four SEC games with a two-point win over Texas (Big 12 vs. SEC Challenge) sandwiched in between.
Florida: This is hot team right now. They have won and covered four in a row and the 22-point win over Kentucky was the closest margin of victory during the win streak! The other three wins were all by 32 points or more. Over the last three games, the Gators have dominated their opponents on the boards every time. That could be big time trouble for a Georgia team that has not rebounded well of late.
Georgia: The Bulldogs did play Florida tough in the first meeting, losing by only four in Gainesville. They were 12-point underdogs on the road. Since then, things have NOT gone well. Their only wins have come against Vandy and Texas. The last SEC home game was a disaster as they fell by 20 to Alabama back on January 25th.
The pick: Florida is 13-4 ATS when favored this season while Georgia is 7-1 ATS as an underdog. So something will have to give. Given recent form, I'm banking on the Gators continuing their recent streak. Those concerned about this being a trap game should know UF has won 48 of the last 62 times it has been favored. Make Florida an 8* play.
