The Vancouver Canucks will be playing their third game in California in four days as they will face the Anaheim Ducks tonight. They got schooled by the reigning Stanley Cup champs at STAPLES Center last night losing 5-1, and I think they will concede plenty of goals in this encounter as well. The Ducks however may have problems keeping the puck out of their net too, so I like the price we get on the over here.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Eddie Lack - I played the over on VAN@LAK last night under the assumption that Eddie Lack would start in goal. Lack didn't start, but the over was a winner anyway as Ryan Miller allowed four goals before Lack came on and conceded one goal on 14 shots. I would think Lack gets the nod to start tonight instead, and his 4.09 GAA and .881 SV% for the season scares no one. He had conceded 10 goals over his last two games before last nights cameo.
2. The Ducks injury woes - Anaheim will have defensemen Ben Lovejoy (finger), Mark Fistric (back) and goaltender John Gibson (groin) indisposable due to injuries. Defenseman Francois Beauchemin will also miss out with flu like symptoms.
3. X-factor - Nine of the last 14 meetings in Anaheim have gone over the total, and so have 17 of the last 25 meetings overall as well.
Selection: This is a play on VAN@ANA to go over the total (5*)
