This is a 10* GAME OF THE MONTH on Cincinnati.
While we'll stop short in calling for an outright upset, we absolutely believe that the 2-3 Cincinnati Bearcats are going to give the 3-0, No. 25 UCF Knights everything they can handle this evening. Last week the Knights posted a 37-7 home win over Memphis, while the Bearcats come in off a 38-21 home loss to Marshall. Note that this sets up as a revenge game for Cincinnati after falling 24-3 last year.
UCF: QB McKenzie Milton was 19 of 31 for 253 yards, three TD's and one INT last week. The team posted 350 rushing yards as well, with Adrian Killins leading the way with 115 yards. The defense also looked sharp, shutting down a dangerous Tigers offense to just 396 total yards.
Cincinnati: The Bearcats were down 24-0 at half time last week, before then losing 38-21. QB Hayden Moore was 22 of 45 for 211 yards, one TD and no picks. The defense struggled in the first half, but looked a lot better in the second.
The bottom line: With a game against lowly East Carolina (1-4 currently) up next, it's not too hard to imagine UCF finally taking the mental foot off the gas in some small way this weekend. Conversely, with a game at 5-0 South Florida next weekend, tonight's game becomes even more important for the Bearcats. Grab the points, play on CINCINNATI.
