This is a 10* O/U SUPER BLOWOUT on the OVER between the Brooklyn Nets and the OKC Thunder.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.
This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant O/U ATS statistics and common sense:
As note that the Brooklyn has seen the total go OVER the number in five of eight already this year after playing to three or more consecutive UNDERs, while OKC has seen the total go OVER the number in four of its last six against poor defensive teams which allow 106 plus points per contest.
The bottom line: The Nets rank among the league's worst in every defensive statistical category. Offense isn't an issue though, as Brooklyn ranks in the top third in that department. The Nets are in last place due mainly in part to their horrendous defense, but they do come in with momentum after winning two straight. OKC has won four straight and it comes in refreshed after two nights off from destroying the Cavaliers 148-124. We look for each side to push the pace and for this one to fly OVER as it comes down the stretch.
