This is an 8* play on the OVER between Tulsa and Cincinnati.
When the smoke clears at the end of this one, we look for this total to eclipse the posted number. This is a big game for both teams which sit at 5-4 and who need one more victory to become bowl eligible. Look for UC to do what it does best, and that's pound the ball on the ground, last week the team got away from that mentality and the result was a 33-30 loss at Houston, also season lows of 18 carries, 66 rushing yards and no rushing TD's. The arial assault though was in fine form as QB Gunner Kiel threw for a career high 523 yards last week along with four TD passes (note that Kiel also had two INT's, one which led to a pick-6). Tulsa ranks ahead of UC on the ground, ranked 40th nationally (Bearcats are 43rd). The Golden Hurricane though definitely have the QB to compete with Kiel, as Dane Evans has thrown for almost 3,000 yards so far, to go along with 17 TD's, including three 400-yard games. Tulsa though ranks 120th in total defense (UC ranks middle of the pack at 55), so it will have to open up the playbook to match pace with the home side today. Note that Tulsa has seen the total go OVER the number in eight of its last 12 vs. teams with winning records, while UC has seen the total sail above the posted number in three of its last five following a loss vs. a conference rival.
