This is a 10* TOTAL WEST-COAST EXPRESS on the OVER between the Sacramento Kings and the San Antonio Spurs.

We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account a bunch of different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. The actual contestants on the field of play rarely enter into our equation when making selections, unless it's a Top 3 player like a LeBron James or Aaron Rodgers etc. One set of criteria which we almost always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics. Sometimes these stats can be overrated and other times they help foreshadow the outcome of a contest.

This particular play is based on a few different factors:

Sharp shooters: This matchup features the best in the world from behind the 3-point line as the Spurs' Kawhi Leonard's 48.4 3-point percentage is slightly above Warriors' superstar Stephan Curry at 46.5.

Revenge situation: The Kings won't be playing in the postseason, but obviously they won't simply be rolling over, they play with double revenge, most recently falling 108-92 at home on February 24th.

ATS statistics: Note that Sacramento has seen the total go OVER the number in 18 of 26 road games this year and in 20 of 36 when playing the role of underdog, while San Antonio has seen the total go OVER the number in eight of 13 as a home favorite of 12.5 points or more and in six of its last ten vs. teams with losing records.

The bottom line: With the Kings looking to take the Spurs out of their comfort zone and to push the pace of this one from the outset, all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
