Stephen Nover's NBA Total of the Week
(NBA) Boston vs. San Antonio, 12/08/2017 4:30 PM, Score: 102 - 105
Total: 197.50 | -110.00 Over
Result: Loss
Not only are the Cetics and Spurs the top two defenses in the NBA, but they also play at a slow pace.

Boston gives up the fewest points per game and ranks second in defensive field goal percentage. San Antonio yields the second-fewest points per game and ranks fourth in defensive rebounding.

So I see this total as being too high. My opinion also is formed by the high caliber of coaches and the possible injury factor.

I rate Gregg Popovich and Brad Stevens as the two best coaches in the NBA. They are going to treat this matchup like a chess game. Boston's rotation could get really stretched if Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris both have to miss the game due to injuries. That would mean increased minutes for Terry Rozier, Marcus Smart and Daniel Theis, none of whom are noted for their offensive prowess.

There is a chance the Spurs get back Kawhi Leonard, the best defensive player in the league, for this game.
