Red Raiders quarterback Davis Webb emerged last year and he looked good opening week completing 39-of-52 passes for 452 yards and four touchdowns against Central Arkansas.
Texas Tech should have no problem putting up at least 40 points. The Miners surrendered 41 or more points in five of their last six games.
UTEP has an improved offense. The Miners can get their share of points against the Red Raiders, who yielded an average of 48.6 points during their last five regular season games last year and have not noticeably improved defensively this season. They gave up 35 points to Central Arkansas in their opener last week.
