Schule's NHL LATE NIGHT SNACK
(NHL) Vancouver vs. Edmonton, 10/17/2014 5:30 PM, Score: 2 - 0
Money Line: -140.00 Vancouver (Away)
Result: Win
This is an 8* play on the Vancouver Canucks.

The Oilers lost to the Canucks in Vancouver on Saturday by a score of 5-4, and I expect a similar result here tonight. Edmonton is still in search of it's first win, but they haven't given us any reason to think they can get the better of a well rested Vancouver team that isn't going to be taking them lightly.

Just five games into the season, and Edmonton is ranked dead last in the NHL in goals against. That's familiar territory as they had a stranglehold on that position all of last season. Much of the damage has come while short-handed, as they've surrendered five power-play goals so far. The Oilers also get their fair share of goals on the man-advantage, clicking at a 33% rate on their power-play.

Ever since the Twins arrived in Vancouver, the Canucks have struggled to find them a suitable line-mate. They joined up with Radim Vrbata in the pre-season, and they've been tearing it up ever since.

Edmonton will have no choice but to go with the struggling Ben Scrivens in goal, as Victor Fasth is out with a groin injury. Scrivens is 0-3 with a 5.21 GAA, and that doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

Take VAN.
