Houston is still out in front in the AL West, five games clear of the second place Angels. The Astros host the defending champion San Francisco Giants tonight, and this looks like a favorable matchup for the Texans.
Collin McHugh will toe the slab for Houston, and he's in search of his 12th consecutive victory. McHugh (4-0, 3.23 ERA) hasn't lost since last August, and the Astros have won all six of his starts so far this season. He gave up a pair of runs on five hits over 7 1/3 innings in a 3-2 win at LA his last time out.
The Giants hand the ball to rookie Chris Heston, who was roughed up pretty good in a loss to San Diego his last time out. Heston (2-3, 3.38 ERA) allowed five runs on 11 hits and three walks in just five innings, losing 9-1 at home. His last start on the road was just as bad, as he was torched for six runs on 11 hits over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Rockies.
Houston's bullpen owns the second lowest ERA in the American League (2.13), only the Royals relievers have been better.
