Schule's MLB MERCHANT of DEATH - **EARLY START**
(MLB) Pittsburgh vs. Chi Cubs, 05/17/2015 10:20 AM, Score: 3 - 0
Money Line: -129.00 Chi Cubs (Home)
Result: Loss
This is an 8* play on the Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs mean business in 2015, and they come into today's game at Wrigely as winners of six in a row. They trail the Cardinals by just three games in the NL Central, and I like their chances of completing a sweep of the Pirates.

A.J. Burnett will toe the slab for the Bucs, and he's having another solid season. Burnett (2-1, 1.60 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on six hits over seven innings in a win over the Phillies his last time out. He's given the Pirates six consecutive quality starts, but I still don't like his chances in a tough spot at Wrigley today. The 38 year old was rocked for eight runs in just 5 2/3 innings, losing his last start in Chicago.

The Cubs hand the ball to Jake Arrieta, who thrives in day games at Wrigley. Arrieta (4-3, 3.00 ERA) allowed just one run on three hits, striking out 10 over eight innings in a home win over the Mets his last time out. His numbers are better at home than they are on the road in 2015, but last year he was 6-1 with a 1.46 ERA in a dozen starts in Chicago,

The current Cubs lineup has hammered Burnett, hitting .396 in a combined 96 at bats.

Take CHC.
