This is a Free #MLB play on the St. Louis #Cardinals.

The Cardinals have won six in a row, and eight of their last nine. St. Louis owns the best home record in the major leagues at 29-7, and dating back to last season they've won 44 of their last 54 at Busch Stadium. Naturally when I see St. Louis at pretty close to even money at home against one of the worst teams in the majors, I get a little excited.

Chris Sale will toe the slab for the Sox, and while he's having a decent season, he did get rocked his last time out. Sale (6-4, 3.02 ERA) was torched for six runs on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings in a loss at Minnesota his last time out. He's a pedestrian 4-3 with a 3.80 ERA in seven starts on the road this season.

The Cardinals hand the ball to Lance Lynn, who is having a fine season in his own right. Lynn (5-4, 2.84 ERA) tossed six scoreless innings in a win at Miami his last time out. He's 2-0 with a 0.96 ERA in three starts in June, and he's 3-1 with a 2.31 ERA in six starts at home in St. Louis. One more advantage for Lynn, is that he's fairly comfortable at the plate, while Sale will be outside his comfort zone in a National League park.

Even when Sale pitches well, there's no guarantee that Chicago wins, as they own one of the worst bullpens in the major leagues. Chicago's relievers have posted an ERA of 4.03, and Zach Putnam surrendered a walk off home run in a 5-4 loss to Detroit on Sunday, as Chicago blew a 4-0 lead in the final two innings.

Take STL.
