This is an 8* play on the St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals have won six of seven, and eight of their last 10. St. Louis owns the best home record in the major leagues at 29-8, and dating back to last season they've won 44 of their last 55 at Busch Stadium. They lost a heart breaker in extra-innings last night, but I think they'll bounce back here tonight.

John Lackey will toe the slab for St. Louis, and he's been fantastic at Busch Stadium. Lackey (6-4, 3.35 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on eight hits over seven innings in a home win over the Cubs his last time out. He's 5-1 with a 1.91 ERA in eight starts in St. Louis this season.

The White Sox hand the ball to Jose Quintana, who hasn't been very consistent. Quintana (3-7, 3.95 ERA) allowed three runs on 11 hits over six innings in a 5-4 loss at Detroit his last time out. He's lost three straight on the road, and he didn't miss many bats in those games.

The Cardinals own the major league's best bullpen, while Chicago's relievers rank among the worst in baseball. The White Sox also rank near the bottom of the majors in runs scored and team batting average.

Take STL.
