Schule's MLB AFTERNOON EXECUTIONER - *EARLY START*
(MLB) St. Louis vs. Chi Cubs, 07/07/2015 9:20 AM, Score: 4 - 7
Money Line: -135.00 Chi Cubs (Home)
Result: Win
This is a 10* play on the Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs will host the Cardinals in Game 1 of a double-header Tuesday afternoon, after being shutout in a loss last night in the series opener. I like Chicago to take advantage of a mismatch on the mound in the early game.

Jake Arrieta will toe the slab for the Cubbies, and he's been dealing lately. Arrieta (8-5, 2.80 ERA) allowed one run on five hits over eight innings in a win at New York his last time out. He's been better on the road than he has been at home so far, but this is exactly the opposite of what we saw last year when he was 6-1 with a 1.46 ERA in a dozen starts at Wrigley. He's been better during the day than he has been at night, not just this season but last year as well.

The Cardinals hand the ball to Tyler Lyons, and the 27 year old makes just his sixth start of the season. This will be his second start against Chicago, and he failed to impress, allowing four runs on six hits and a pair of walks in just 4 1/3 innings in a no decision at home back in May. He faced the Cubs four times last season, posting an ERA of 7.84 over 10 1/3 innings.

Anthony Rizzo is 3-for-7 lifetime versus the southpaw, and he's crushing left-handed pitching, batting .333 this season.

Take CHC.
