The Red Sox will send their 300 million dollar ace to the hill in Cleveland today, but I think the "price" is right to back the Tribe as a home dog.
David Price did not pitch well in the playoffs with the Blue Jays last year, and at the age of 30 his best years may be behind him. He was 1-1 with a 2.81 ERA in 16 innings this Spring, giving up six runs on 15 hits with seven walks. Over the last three seasons, April has been his worst month. He's just 5-5 with a 4.70 ERA in 16 starts in the month of April since 2013.
The Indians hand the ball to 2014 Cy Young winner Corey Kluber, who has been dealing this Spring. Kluber was 4-1 with a 2.19 ERA in six appearances, but even more impressive was his 26 strikeouts in just 24 innings. He's 21-13 with a 2.64 ERA at home in Cleveland since 2013, and he appears to be on top form heading into Opening Day.
Boston's lineup is hitting .200 with 22 strikeouts in a combined 75 at bats versus Kluber.
