The Dodgers dropped three of four games in a home and home series versus the Angels, and they open a new series on the road at PETCO Park tonight. The Padres are sitting in the cellar in the NL West, and they've lost four in a row.

Scott Kazmir will toe the slab for LA, and the veteran looked good in his last start. Kazmir (3-3, 4.89 ERA) went 8 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits with seven strikeouts. He's facing a Padres lineup that ranks dead last in the major leagues batting .236 so far this season. San Diego slugger Matt Kemp is just 2-for-11 with four strikeouts versus Kazmir lifetime.

The Padres hand the ball to Christian Friedrich, who is making just his second start of the season. The southpaw got quite lucky in his season debut, he walked six batters in six innings pitched, but the Brewers let him off the hook tagging him for just one run on four hits.
