Neither of the two L.A. based teams have been doing particularly well of late as they'll take the court for a classic Battle of L.A. on Christmas Day. The Clippers are coming off three consecutive losses while the Lakers have been miserable all season. The Lakers are likely to come into this contest ready to play ball though, particularly on D, and I think we'll see a low-scoring contest.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Situational - The Clippers suffered a rough 100-99 defeat to Oklahoma City Monday, but the under is 7-1 in their last eight games following a straight up loss. Bookmakers also seem to fail to adjust the totals when they face lower tier competition as the under is 4-1 in their last five when coming up against an opponent with a losing straight up record.
2. Previous Meetings - Four of the last five meetings have gone under the total, and the Lakers have scored more than 100 points just once during a seven-game losing streak against the Clippers.
3. X-Factor - Kobe Bryant was just 7-of-22 (31.8%) shooting from the field in Wednesday's loss to the Thunder.
