Shelby Miller will take the ball for Arizona for his first major-league appearance since April 23, 2017 (elbow surgery). The right-hander has failed to convince during his minor league rehab, delivering a mediocre 4.66 ERA over four starts for High-A Visalia and Double-A Jackson, but expect him to be fired up for this one and the D'Backs bats to provide him plenty of run support. "I'm super excited to be here," Miller said. "For me, it's a huge accomplishment. Command was the last thing to come back. But I feel it is there now. I wouldn't be here if I didn't feel I was ready to pitch."

Miami counters with Dan Straily (2-3, 4.89 ERA) who was tagged with four runs on four hits with a pair of homers through just 1 1/3 innings at San Francisco before getting ejected his last time out. The Fish have lost each of his last five starts and he has served up a total of five homers in the last three.

Diamondbacks are 7-1 in their last 8 road games. Marlins are 0-5 in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
