Wise Guy
(NFL) Pittsburgh vs. NY Jets,
Point Spread: -1.50 | -110.00 NY Jets (Home)
Result: Loss
AFC Interdivisional Game of the Year

This line is crazy. Home field advantage is worth three points, so this line implies that Pittsburgh is slightly the best team. Um, not. We prefer efficiency ratings and New York is much better on each side of the ball.

We told you entering the season that Pittsburgh was grossly overrated. Ben Roethlisberger is now just slightly above average. His offensive line was already bad and they lost Maurkice Pouncey. They are ageing on defense.

Going with teams off four straight games with one or fewer turnovers versus an opponent off a game with a turnover margin of -2 or worse is 80-41.

Again, solid rookie QBs have been grossly underrated in recent years. Odds are based on archaic data in which rookies struggled. For many legitimate reason that has changed drastically. NY is 4-1 against the spread, but also remember that rookies tend to play much better at home where Geno Smith is 2-0 straight up and against the spread.

The Steelers are 0-4 straight up and against the spread even though this is just their second game on the home field of an opponent. Sorry, oddsmakers are behind both teams.
