A's at Rangers
(MLB) Athletics (OAK) vs. Rangers (TEX),
Money Line: 130.00 Athletics (OAK) (Away)
Result: Win
Not exactly a sell signal on the A's, dropping a 10-9 verdict at Cincy on Thursday that prevented a sweep of Cincy. Neither do we suspect it was a buy signal on the Rangers to sweep put the lowly Chisox, especially as Texas made hard work of it in each of the wins. Most of the recent starts by Oakland's JP Sears have been good ones; he had allowed just five runs across 28 2/3 IP (1.57 ERA) in his four starts previous to last weekend vs. the Brewers, so we think he's entitled to a mulligan. Meanwhile, Bruce Bochy can't be too thrilled giving the ball to Jon Gray, who has been subpar to say the least in since being activated, allowing eight runs and nine hits across 4 IP in two appearances. Remember, the A's had been on an extended 22-14 uptick since just prior to the All-Star break before the close loss yesterday. Play A's on Money Line
