You might not be able to find WVU +10 at many outlets, but even the +8/8.5 would be a viable price to put the Mountaineers in play on Saturday. This was once one of the grand rivalries of Eastern college football, effectively sacrificed when Penn State joined the Big Ten in the early 90s, and last year's renewal let a bitter taste in the mouths of the WVU folk after James Franklin eschewed the knee and jammed in a last-minute TD to push the scoreline to 38-15 Nittany Lions...and beyond the posted spread of 21. Neal Brown, his job on the line, fired up the Mountaineers thereafter as they would finish at 9-4 and romp past UNC in the Duke's Mayo Bowl behind QB Garrett Greene, rewarding Brown's faith in products of his program, and not the portal, and what would be the nation's third-best rushing offense. Penn State would fail all of its subsequent major challenges last season, and QB Drew Allar is still apt to try and dink-and-dunk his way downfield. If the Nittany Lions survive, it will be close.
