Notre Dame vs Army
(NCAAF) Black Knights (ARM) vs. Fighting Irish (ND),
Point Spread: -14.00 | -110.00 Fighting Irish (ND) (Home)
Result: Win
Hardly the first rodeo between these two as ranked teams. It was a 1 vs 2 battle in 1946 at the old Yankee Stadium that ended in a historic 0-0 draw in one of the first "Games of the Century" in the last millennium. We trust we see more points on Saturday in the Bronx. While Jeff Monken deserves lots of Coach of the year votes as he has kept West Point unbeaten into last November, and a winner in 13 straight, the best Black Knights win was probably over North Texas. The new American schedule for this season kept Tulane and Memphis off the slate, which has broken as absolutely kindly as it could for Army. Notre Dame is a different animal, with Al Golden's robust, top ten defense already having shut down Navy's version of the option (complete with Wing-T elements) last month as the Meadowlands by a 51-14 count. Marcus Freeman is also 16-6-1 vs. the line since last season, including Virginia's very backdoor cover last week. Play Notre Dame (at Yankee Stadium)
