It's "crunch time" in MLB right now. These two teams are battling for one of the AL's wildcard spots. There's still lots of time left in the season, but the race is close, and this series is a very important one. So with that said, I just can't understate how important that I believe the home-field advantage will be today. As good as Boston has been over the last three weeks, remember that it's still just 26-26 on the road. Seattle is 29-25 at home. Nick Pivetta (7-5, 4.11 ERA) gets the call for Boston, but I still like George Kirby (9-8, 3.49) at home (where he's 6-3 with a 3.39 ERA.) All in all, I view this as the very definition of "great line value." Lay the short price, the play is Seattle.
