Giants over Cardinals- The Giants who are 5-4 on their current 10-game road trip had won 18 of its previous 22 contests sit with a 4½ game lead over the Dodgers in the West. The Cardinals who are just not the same team that we are used to seeing in 11 games back of the Cubs in the NL Central and two games behind the Pirates. Jack Peavy (2-5, 6.34 ERA) is coming off his best outing of the season and is 3-4 with a 2.97 ERA against the Cards in nine starts. Carlos Martinez (5-5, 3.69) will start for St. Louis and he is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA against the Giants and has a 5.03 ERA at home this season. Take SAN FRANCISCO!
