Padres over Pirates- The Pirates appeared to be making a run toward respectability went they reached the 50-50 mark but their current 3-game losing streak has them moving in the wrong direction. Pittsburgh will start their biggest winner in Ivan Nova (10-7, 3.62 ERA) who gets the nod in San Diego tonight. Nova has defeated the Padres once when he was a member of the Yankees and that is his only decision in two starts against them. San Diego will start hard throwing Dineslson Lamet (4-4, 5.92) who is improving on his control issues and is off a win over the Giants where he allowed just one walk and two runs. Pittsburgh has dropped their last three and the Padres have won their last three. Take SAN DIEGO!
