Cougars over Bulldogs- What a difference a coach makes (hear that Browns & Bengals). Fresno State coach Jeff Tedford took over after the Bulldogs went 1-11 last season and improved by eight games the largest increase in college football this season. Houston was also playing under anew coach in Major Applewhile and the former quarterback will be calling the plays as his offensive coordinator Brian Johnson went to Florida. The Cougars will be playing in a bowl game for the fifth straight year (11-13 overall) while Fresno State is in the post season for the first time in five years they are 10-13 in bowl games including a 30-6 loss to Rice in the Hawaii Bowl in their last appearance.
