Marlins over Padres- In 1993 I took my 'poppy' to the Florida Marlins inaugural game an 8-0 win over the Dodgers. He had turned off baseball after the '84 strike and it took some doing to get him to go the the game as he was very bitter' about the players letting down America. As a small payback for all the times he took me to the Polo Grounds (NY Giants), Ebbets Field (Brooklyn) and Yankee Stadium I insisted that he go and it was great. This weekend the original Marlins (Jeff Conine) are celebrating their 25th anniversary and like that first Marlins club that was expected to be the worst in baseball the team showed more then people expected. The same goes with this year's version as they are again expected to be the 'worst.' But, this club has more talent then people realize and they show it again today. Take MIAMI!
