Padres over Giants- Sometimes for whatever reason an anomaly shows itself for a particular team during the season. The Padres have lost five straight games and are 2-12 in their last 14 and just 8-26 since June 15. San Diego is 5-6 against the Giants including 3-1 at Petco Park but here comes the anomaly they are 1-16 in the first game of a series in their last 17 and are 7-27 series openers. Derek Holland (5-8, 3.92 ERA) will make his second start since coming out of the bullpen while San Diego starter Eric Lauer (5-7, 5.29) and has thrown 11 innings in a pair of starts against the Giants in this his rookie season. Time for the Padres to break out at home. Take SAN DIEGO!
