Padres over Royals- With last night's 6-5 win the San Diego Padres have won the last seven meetings against the Royals in this series and for the most part it was done while both clubs were struggling below the .500 win percentage. Kansas City after a quick start has now dropped five straight and will be sending Jeremy Guthrie (2-2, 4.50 ERA) with a lifetime 1-2 and 5.29 ERA against San Diego. The Royals have never beaten the Padres in San Diego and I don't see it happening here. Take the Padres!
Phillies over Blue Jays- Cole Hamels (0-2, 6.75 ERA) makes his fifth attempt at reaching 100 career wins as he has struggled with spring training and his only two starts this season. Jimmy Rollins is expected to play for the Phillies tonight as he rested his sore groin yesterday. Toronto is have difficulties of their own as they have won just five of their last 14 games.
