This is an 8* CUSTOMER APPRECIATION PLAY on the UNDER Braves/Phillies.
Atlanta beat Philadelphia here 7-2 in yesterday's opener and while tha total flew OVER the number, I think we'll have a duel on our hands here on Friday.
Max Fried (7-5, 4.29 ERA) gets the nod for the Braves and he enters off a gem in his first start back from the break, going seven shutout innings in a 9-0 win over the Rays. I think he builds off that performance here.
The home side counters with Zach Wheeler, who is 7-5 with a 2.44 ERA. He most recently allowed four runs and struck out seven over six innings in a win over the Marlins on Sunday. Wheeler hasn't been at his absolute best over his last two starts, but he's still posted a 2.28 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over his last 43.1 innings of work.
He's also been at his best at home, going 4-2 with a 2.16 ERA thus far.
I like Fried and Wheeler to work deep into this one and I expect that to ultimately help in driving this total UNDER the number once it's all said and done.
