The New York Islanders had everything against them in Game One of their Eastern Conference Finals and it showed. First, they were coming off a tough game seven. Second, they had to travel on their day off to the bubble in Edmonton from the bubble in Toronto. Finally, they had to play a well rested Tampa Bay Lightning team. All three things came together for an 8-2 loss for the Islanders. Brayden Point opened the scoring just 1:14 into the game for Tampa Bay but the Isles got that one back when Jordan Eberle scored 3:19 later. From there it was all downhill for the Islanders. Andrei Vasilevskiy got the win in goal for Tampa Bay after stopping 22 of 24 shots while his counterpart, Thomas Greiss gave up 3 goals on 9 shots before being pulled.
