(MLB) LA Angels vs. Miami,
Money Line: -140.00 Miami (Home)
Result: Win
We've been on the Sandy Alcantara hype train all season long and little changes in this contest. The Marlins enter this game winners of five straight contests after sweeping the Nationals on the road and sit just two games below .500 on the season. They face an Angels team that was swept over the weekend by Houston and who stand seven games below .500 on the season. Noah Syndergaard has been decent but unspectacular and nothing like the halcyon days early in his career when Thor helped carry the Mets' rotation and struck fear in the hearts of opposing hitters. Throw in Mike Trout being 0 for 14 coming into this game for his second prolonged slump of the year, and the fact that they have to make the long trek across the country, to add to their woes. Alcantara went the distance in his last start as the Marlins beat the Cardinals and he's gone at least seven frames in each of his last 10 starts. He's excellent at home, going 4-2 with a 1.80 ERA, a 0.87 WHIP, 11 walks and 47 strikeouts over 60 innings at LoanDepot Park. Look for Miami to run on Syndergaard and Alcantara to keep the Angels' bats in check. The Marlins run their win streak to six with a win here.
