Chicago White Sox -130

Result: Loss
This one is more an indictment on Chris Archer than anything else. We talked about his inability to help his team out by going deep in games last week when they faced Shane Bieber and the Guardians. True to form, Archer went only four innings and while he only allowed one run on one hit, he issued SIX walks while striking out two in a game the Twins went on to lose in walk-off fashion. Sure, you can point to the fact that he hasn't allowed more than two runs in eight of his last nine starts but he hasn't gone more than five frames in a game ALL SEASON. That puts a lot of pressure on a Minnesota bullpen that has had a heavy workload with a mixed bag of results of late. The Twins managed to earn a 6-3 win in 10 innings in the opening game of this set. Kopech has scuffled a bit with three straight losses but we know he has electric stuff. If he avoids the walks, we know how dangerous Kopech can be on the mound. Pitching at home, knowing that their chances to make a move in the AL Central are slipping away. Look for the White Sox to find a way to scratch this one out as Archer has another short outing, putting too much strain on the bullpen arms.
