AMEDEUS' CFB WEDNESDAY WINNER!
(NCAAF) New Mexico State vs. UTEP,
Point Spread: 3.50 | -116.00 UTEP (Home)
Result: Loss
New Mexico State is coming into this game with a 4-3 record this season but they have not had a very strong schedule up to this point. They are also 2-1 in conference games but both of their wins came against the 2 worst teams in the conference right now. Their 2 conference wins came against FIU who is 3-4 overall, 0-4 in the conference, and Sam Houston who is 0-6 overall, 0-3 in the conference. Their other 2 wins were against New Mexico who is 2-4 and Western Illinois who is a 0-6 FCS team. Their 1 conference loss came against Liberty who is still undefeated but even their other 2 losses have come against bad teams as they lost to 2-5 Hawaii and 1-7 UMass, New Mexico State being UMass' only win this season. They are going up against a UTEP team that is also 2-5 this season as they have not been good but they are going to have some confidence here as they are coming off of a road win against FIU in their last game which was their 1st game out of their bye week. Now they have some steam behind them coming back home for this rivalry game and they are going to get up for it since they have won the last 2 meetings including last year's at home as well. UTEP is only 2-5 this year but even their losses have come against much stronger teams than New Mexico State has faced. UTEP has 2 losses against power 5 teams in Arizona and Northwestern who both have records over .500. They also have losses against Jacksonville State who is 5-2 and UNLV who is 5-1 overall. Cade McConnell was the big difference for UTEP in their last game as he played great in his 1st road start and he is only going to get better in this offense at home with a road start under his belt already. UTEP will have success passing the ball on this New Mexico State defense and they can pull off the upset here at home in a rivalry game. UTEP will cover the spread here.
