I especially like St. Louis today!

2021 first-round pick Michael McGreevy has pitched well in two MLB appearances (one run allowed in a 7.0 IP start vs. Texas in late July and zero runs w/ 4 Ks in a three-inning relief appearance on Sept. 18 vs. Pittsburgh) and will look to make a lasting impression tonight in hopes of securing a rotation spot for next season. His arsenal is sinker/slider-based and pitch-to-contact for groundballs, which will be impactful given the elevation of Coors Field. The Rockies strike out a lot (29.3% K% against right-handed pitching over the last 30 days) and rank 28th in wRC+ (83) vs. right-handers this season. McGreevey was solid in Triple-A this year (4.02 ERA with a 3.86 FIP in 150 innings), with eight total runs allowed and 30 strikeouts in his last five starts (27.2 IP). After a day of rest, the Cards' pen should be ready to prevent a late-inning collapse, as the day off was important for key bullpen arms Ryan Helsley (1.11 WHIP and 77 Ks in 64.2 IP) and Andrew Kittredge (1.15 WHIP and 64 Ks in 67.2 IP).

The Cardinals will face SP Ryan Feltner, who has been better of late but has not fared well at home this season (5.76 ERA and 1.52 WHIP with a .358 opponent wOBA.). He doesn't strike out many batters (7.72 K/9), either, so the number of batted balls he allows at Coors Field makes him vulnerable to poor performances. Feltner is backed up by the worst bullpen in baseball (30th in ERA and WHIP), as well.

St. Louis is coming off consecutive series wins, with their last one coming against AL Central leader Cleveland. The Cardinals still have a great shot at finishing the season with a winning record, and I expect them to play like a team with something to play for tonight in Denver.
