IOWA -5.5
(NCAAF) Hawkeyes (IOW) vs. Bruins (UCLA),
Point Spread: -5.50 | -122.00 Hawkeyes (IOW) (Away)
Result: Loss
Yes, UCLA has shown marked improvement over the last few weeks, but I don't trust the Bruins on Friday vs. Iowa.

The Hawkeyes' physicality will be the difference-maker in this game, even on a short week. Kaleb Johnson has seven 100-plus rushing yard games and the Hawkeyes have scored 40 points in three of the last four weeks.

UCLA has fared well through the air lately, but Iowa's pass defense is great (21st in passes defended and 32nd in passes broken up) and it is top-20 in rushing yards allowed, too. The Bruins exposed Rutgers and beat Nebraska without its starting QB Dyan Raiola — that isn't convincing enough for me against a well-coached Iowa team.

The Hawkeyes know who they are, while the Bruins are just forming an identity in a new conference with a new coach. I'll take the experienced team to cover on Friday night!
