Yes the Capitals have revenge for an 8-4 beating on Long Island last week but revenge can only take you so far. The Isles are coached by Barry Trotz and he is the one that led Washington to the Stanley Cup Championship just 3 years ago. He does not like to lose to his former team and he'll have the Islanders ready again here. The Islanders can tie the Caps at the top of the division standings with a regulation win here so there is no shortage of motivation here for the home team even though it is the road team with revenge on their minds. Another factor to like here is that, even though the Capitals are off back to back wins they were against a struggling Devils team. Not only that, the first win was after regulation and the second win was a 5-4 win but Washington was outshot 39 to 19 and was very fortunate to emerge victorious in that one. The Capitals will not be so fortunate here and the Islanders get a big win to continue their season-long home dominance and move into a first-place tie with Washington in the standings.
