Stephen Nover's CFL Week 1 Totals Crusher - 71% CFL Hot Streak
(CFL) Saskatchewan vs. Edmonton,
Total: 46.50 | -105.00 Over
Result: Win
Two veteran quarterbacks, a new coach and a terrible defense should spell enough points to go Over this total in this season opener.

Saskatchewan would like to make a good impression in Corey Mace's first game as its head coach. Trevor Harris is back from a knee injury and has one of the best running backs in the league, A.J. Ouellette, who was the fourth-leading rusher in the league for Toronto last year. Edmonton was last in run defense in 2023. Defenses have to respect Harris more with Ouellette in the backfield.

The Roughriders will need to score a lot to off-set a defense that allowed 30.6 points a game, worst in the CFL last season. Saskatchewan's secondary appears especially vulnerable.

Edmonton should produce its share of points with former star Toronto quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson behind center. Bethel-Thompson played in the USFL last year and led the league in passing. Bethel-Thompson has a pair of excellent receivers, Eugene Lewis and Kurleigh Gittens Jr.
