Stephen Nover's Totals Play of the Week
(MLB) Chi Cubs vs. Cincinnati,
Total: 7.50 | -118.00 Under
Result: Loss
Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati is one of the best hitter's parks in the majors. The weather forecast is for a muggy, humid evening with around an 8 mph wind blowing out. Scheduled home plate umpire Andy Fletcher is neutral when it comes to over/unders.

So stadium and weather are pluses for the over. Now we come to the starting pitchers.

Dallas Beeler makes just his second big league start for the Cubs. He pitched well in a 3-0 loss to the Nationals in his debut. The Reds have a scouting report on him now, though. Streaky Beeler wouldn't even be in the Cubs' rotation if not for Chicago trading Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel to Oakland. Jay Bruce has three homers and nine RBIs in his last four games.

The Cubs are facing 33-year-old Alfredo Simon, who is due for a regression as he's not nearly a good enough pitcher to sustain a 2.78 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. This will be the Cubs' fourth look at him. Chicago's offense increases and its defense decreases with top infield prospect Arismendy Alcantara filling in for Darwin Barney, who is going on paternity leave.

Both bullpens have high fatigue ratings after yesterday's doubleheader.
