Stephen Nover's Early Game Totals Destroyer
(MLB) Miami vs. NY Mets,
Total: 7.50 | -117.00 Under
Result: Win
The Mets have some great young pitching. But none of those guys are going today.

Instead it's 33-year-old over-the-hill Daisuke Matsuzaka, who probably isn't going to be in New York's starting rotation following the All-Star break. Matsuzaka pitched well in his last start. That, however, was against the weak-hitting Braves. Dice-K had given up five runs during each of his two starts prior to facing the Braves, who rank second-to-last in runs scored. The Marlins just saw Matsuzaka on June 20. The over has cashed seven of the last nine times the Marlins have faced a right-hander.

The Marlins are going with Tom Koehler, an overachiever who has trouble pitching in hitter's parks. Koehler has a 5.51 ERA in nine starts away from pitcher-friendly Marlins Ballpark. His past four away starts have all gone over the total.

Citi Field plays much better for pitchers in the spring when the weather still is cold. Now, during summer, it plays more neutral. The weather conditions are excellent for this day game. It's a hot, humid day with the wind blowing out at 13 mph.

Sparked by hot-hitting David Wright, who is batting .385 during his last 17 games, the Mets have averaged 5.3 runs in their last six games. This will be their fourth look already at Koehler this season.

Scheduled home plate Alfonzo Marquez has a slight bias to the under. However, the over has cashed in 10 of his last 13 games behind the plate with the Mets involved and the over is 6-2 in his last eight games when he was behind the plate for Marlins games.
