This is an 8* SLUG-FEST on the OVER Giants/Mets.

These teams have been playing to some rather lower-scoring games of late, but I'm expecting some offensive fireworks here finally on Saturday afternoon.

San Francisco snapped a two-game slide with a 5-4 come from behind win here yesterday and it's now seen the total go UNDER in five straight. Note though that the Giants have seen the total go OVER the number in five of their last six after playing to five or more straight UNDERS in a row.

The Mets have seen the total go UNDER in five straight as well. They've lost five of their last six as well.

Two teams in need of a win here face two starters whose efforts this season could best be described as: "pedestrian."

Anthony DeSclafani is 4-7 with a 4.28 ERA for the Giants, while Justin Verlander is 2-4 with a 4.11 ERA for the Mets.

The situation and numbers all point to this total eclipsing the posted number sooner, rather than later.
