This is a 10* GAME OF THE MONTH on the LA Angels.

The Orioles had been happily rolling along at home before a series loss to the Mariners this week, capped off by yesterday's 7-2 defeat. We think that Baltimore is ripe for a letdown today. Note that the O's are just 7-7 on the road this season. The Angels on the other hand come into this one on fire, they've won six of their last seven after beating the Dodgers 7-4 on Friday. LA has plated 52 runs in its last eight games after scoring just eight in its previous five. Baltimore hands the ball to Mike Wright (2-3, 5.20 ERA) who is coming off his best start of the season, giving up two runs off three hits over seven innings in a 9-3 victory over the Tigers. Wright though has been a disaster on the road this year, going 1-1 with a ballooned 7.15 ERA. The home side counters with Hector Santiago (3-2, 3.42), who outdueled Seattle's Felix Hernandez in his last start, giving up two hits over eight innings in a 3-0 win. A date vs. the Orioles is just what the doctor ordered as well to keep the momentum going for Santiago, he's faced them three times and posted a 2.57 ERA. "Momentum" is a factor which the oddsmakers often have a hard time properly quantifying into a line and we think they've made a mistake here. As mentioned off the top, this one sets up as a natural letdown spot for the Orioles, while the home side looks to build on its recent success and take advantage of the familiar surroundings. In our professional opinion, this is indeed the very definition of "great line value." Play on the ANGELS.
