This is an 8* play on the UNDER between Northern Illinois and Central Michigan.
REASONING: The Chippewas are 16-11 overall this year and the Huskies are 14-13. Both are 6-8 in conference play though and as such, we're expecting an all out war from start to finish. Northern Illinois comes in off a deflating 88-80 OT loss to Toledo on Saturday, the Huskies fourth straight setback. Eugene German was a standout with 27 points. Note though that only one player hit a single 3-pointer on the night, not surprising considering how much difficulty the Huskies have had from range, shooting just 30.8 percent on the season (that's the worst mark in the conference). Central Michigan also enters off a high-scoring OT loss, falling 109-100 to Ball State. Marcus Keene had 40 points, three boards, two assists and a steal in the setback. Note though that despite reaching the 100 point plateau, the Chips did in fact shoot only 36.8 percent from the field and connected on only 30 percent of their 3-pointers. Central Michigan is still the highest scoring team in the conference at 89.9 PPG, but note that it has in fact seen the total go UNDER the number in two of three already this year as a home fav in the 3.5 to six points range. And note that NIU has seen the total go UNDER in five of seven this season after scoring 80 points or more. We think the stage is now set for more of a defensive affair, play the UNDER.
