(NBA) Detroit vs. Indiana,
Total: 205.50 | -110.00 Under
Result: Win
Total: 205.50 | -110.00 Under
Result: Win
This is a 10* TOTAL EXPRESS on the OVER between the Detroit Pistons and the Indiana Pacers.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.
This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant O/U ATS statistics:
As note that Detroit has seen the total go OVER in three of its last four on the road, while Indiana has seen the total go OVER the number in eight of 14 after a loss by ten points or more and in two of its last three against the division.
The bottom line: Indiana has seen the total go UNDER the number in eight straight, while Detroit has seen it go UNDER in two of its last three. Not surprisingly, when these teams met on February 4th, the total would also stay UNDER the posted number in the Pacers 105-84 victory. These are two teams fighting for playoff positioning and we're expecting a much more wide open affair this time around though. Play the OVER.
