This is an 8* play on the UNDER between Davidson and Dayton.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.
This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant O/U ATS statistics:
As note that Davidson has seen the total go UNDER the number in two of three tournament games already this season and in seven of nine when the total in the contest is between 140 to 149.5, while Dayton has seen the total go UNDER in both games that it's played in this year with five or six days rest and in two of its last three on a neutral court.
The bottom line: Dayton won nine straight to end the season, but then came up short in its finale. It hasn't played since. The Flyers though have seen the total go OVER the number in an amazing ten straight games. Dayton also beat Davidson 89-82 in OT on February 24th, the total also going OVER the posted number. The Bobcats have seen the total go OVER the number in five of their last six overall, including in their 82-73 victory over La Salle on Thursday. But the numbers and trends are now pointing to the value going the other way. We love this selection, play the UNDER.
