AAA's NHL WEST-COAST EXPRESS!
(NHL) Vancouver vs. Edmonton,
Total: 5.00 | -131.00 Over
Result: Win
This is an 8* O/U EXPRESS on the UNDER between the Vancouver Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers.

We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.

This particular play is based on a few different factors:

As note that Vancouver has seen the total go UNDER the number in 13 of 17 against the division already this year and in 14 of 25 against clubs with winning records, while Edmonton has seen the total go UNDER in ten of 16 this season after scoring four goals or more in its previous game and in nine of 15 against the division.

The bottom line: Vancouver comes in with zero momentum after losing five straight. Edmonton had lost three in a row before back-to-back victories. The Canucks have managed the second-fewest goals in the NHL and are coming off a winless home-stand (nine total goals in that span). The Oilers posted just four total goals during their three game losing streak, but they've scored seven goals in each of their wins over Dallas and Boston. Suffice it to say, we're not expecting another big explosion tonight, instead we believe the playoff bound home side will control the tempo of this one from the outset. The situation and the numbers point to the UNDER as the savvy call in this particular matchup.
